Board Member

Veronique is a native of Sherbrooke Quebec, Canada and began music at the age of six on Trumpet. She first experienced Drum Corps in 1993 when her brother joined L’academie Musicale Drum and Bugle Corps in Sherbrooke Quebec, Canada. She became passionate about the activity during this time and dreamed of being in the colorguard but would later join the hornline in her DCI career.

In 1995 she joined Harmonie, a small instrumental ensemble, in high school and later would join the stage band. This same year, she auditioned and joined L’academie Musicale Drum and Bugle Corps beginning her marching experience in the summer season of 1996 on Baritone. In 1997, she joined Kiwanis Kavaliers from Kitcherner Ontario, Canada and performed on Bariton again. In 1998, she returned to Kiwanis Kavaliers and marched Trumpet for the first time. She met her husband, Joshua, this same year in Washington, D.C. during her summer tour in the United States and through their talks are exicited to start Myrtle Wavez locally. In 1999 she returned to L’academie Musicale to perform on Trumpet which was her last year marching. She also volunteered with Les Stentors Drum and Bugle Corps in Sherbrooke Quebec Canada. She has remained immersed in the activity and her love for the drum corps has continued since her first experience in 1993.

During her high school and college years she continued to be involved in the arts with acting, dance, and music. She has held a variety of admin and clerical positions throughout her career. She received her college degree from Seminaire of Sherbrooke in arts and literature with a focus in theater. She is excited to finally bring her vision of one day starting a Drum Corps to reality and is proud to serve as Assistant Director for Myrtle Wavez. She looks forward to students experiencing the same excitement, lifelong friendships, achievements, and hard-working values that she has enjoyed throughout her involvement with the activity. ONE!
